The Tibetan Mastiff is a large Tibetan dog breed, originating with the nomadic cultures of Tibet and known as the world's most expensive dog breed; 1.5 millions dollars one was sold. Purchase of Tibetan Mastiff has become status symbol for China's ultra-rich.
After Chinese President Xi Jinping launched a crackdown on financial corruption in 2013 and breeding centres ran out of business and closed down, the Tibetan Mastiffs were being abandoned by their rich Chinese owners.
Nowadays, the Tibetan plateau is crowded with the abandoned fluffy breeds. Most of them are being killed or slaughtered by those Chinese business people.
That's very sad! The dog is very cute, I can't believe they did that.
